The Retreat House

One day, we'd quite like to meet you.

Room to Restore began online.

But it was never meant to live entirely behind a screen.

There are some things that are simply better in real life.

Sitting around a table.

Going somewhere beautiful.

Having a conversation that carries on long after dinner should probably have finished.

Being looked after for a change.

Leaving your usual life for a little while and remembering what you feel like outside of it.

The Retreat House is where Room to Restore will come to life.

What we're imagining.

We have lots of ideas for this room.

Beautiful restorative retreats in places worth travelling to.

Small gatherings in London.

Long lunches and interesting conversations.

Mornings devoted to absolutely nobody but yourself.

Workshops with people who genuinely have something worth teaching us.

Perhaps a weekend away when life has become particularly loud.

Perhaps an evening with women you've never met that somehow ends with everybody staying far later than planned.

We don't know exactly what every gathering will look like yet.

And we rather like that.

What we do know is how we want them to feel.

Emotional Hospitality, in real life.

You know that feeling when you arrive somewhere and somebody has thought of everything?

The room is beautiful. There's something lovely to drink. You know where to put your coat. Nobody is rushing you. Nobody needs anything from you.

You can simply arrive.

That's Emotional Hospitality.

And The Retreat House is where we get to practise it properly.

Not by packing a weekend with activities from breakfast until bedtime.

Not by sending you home with seventeen new things you should be doing.

And definitely not by making you wake up at 6am unless you happen to want to.

We want to create experiences where being cared for is part of the experience itself.

Beautiful places. Thoughtful details. Good food. Interesting people. Proper rest.

And enough space for something unexpected to happen.

The doors aren't open quite yet.

We're taking our time with this one.

Because when we invite you somewhere, we want it to be somewhere we'd genuinely want to go ourselves.

So for now, The Retreat House is still being prepared.

But there are plans being made behind these doors.

And when we're ready to open them, Keyholders will be the first to know.

We hope we'll see you here one day.
